So Long, And Thanks For The Baby Fish Mouth

by

Character-actor Bruno Kirby died of complications due to leukemia the other day.

In When Harry Met Sally, Kirby’s  Pictionary gambit became inspiration for the members of the I-Chew-Bubble-Gum section.   We had a corpulent sergeant in charge of us by the name of Fisher who had a mouth like a  grouper.  Naturally, his nickname soon became Baby Fish Mouth.  It is unclear who exactly came up with this name.  The name stuck appropriately.  So much so, that the abbreviation, BFM, became SOP in the AO around the BN.

We appreciate the contribution of Mr. Kirby and mourn his loss.

You really keep your tabs on your character actors. Thanks for keeping us abreast. Kirby’s contributions to our rich culture will live on in my memories of August funeral detail with Baby Fishmouth."I mean, you know, when you’ve loved and lost the way Frank has, then you, uh…you know what life’s about."–Tommy Pishedda, limo driver to Nigel Tufnel et alia
